Our Story

Two Red Trees was set up by me, Anna Ward (far right). In my late twenties I gave up working for a large corporation in London to move to Cornwall and study for a Masters Degree in Illustration. This opened my eyes to the British Craft industry and an amazing number of incredibly talented people. Two Red Trees was born from the fact that my favourite gifts (given and received) have never been from high street shops. It took shape from my discovery of the high standard of British Craft and my belief in supporting small businesses. It is what it is today because I work with some fantatic sellers who share my commitment to great customer service.

My two sisters help me to source sellers, find ways to reach new customers and to work with our sellers so that as we grow, their businesses grow also. Kate (left) lives in Malawi and runs The Resposible Safari Company - her experience working with communities in Africa continues to add an inspiring viewpoint to Two Red Trees. Rebecca (middle) has worked in internal communications and specialist recruiment for many years and helps to make sure we're always looking a little way ahead. She is also a mother of two young girls and so has a big input into the Children's section of the site!

I also work alongside Mike Carthew who is very experienced in digital marketing. He works on all aspects of the business with me and together we wrote Commercial Creatives - Make an Income from Creative Hobbies and Skills.
